Sino-German Science and Technology Forum, hosted by the China Alumni

Association of Europe and America (CAA), and organized by the Quanzhou

Municipal People’s Government, opened in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China on

May 24, 2023. Ding Zhongli, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the

National People’s Congress, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic

National Construction Association, and President of the CAA, Zhou Zuyi,

Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the

Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, and Chen Xu, Director of the

State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, delivered speeches at the

opening ceremony. More than 200 Chinese and German political figures, renowned

scientists, entrepreneurs, and representatives of overseas Chinese students

attended the event. Prof. Eric Moskawa, President of Rhein Koester Group and

Director of the Steinbeis Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center

in Germany, along with Tang Jun, President of Rhein Koester China Headquarters,

led a delegation of Chinese and German experts invited to participate in the

event.

afternoon of the same day, three parallel forums on “Digital Economy and

Intelligent Manufacturing,” “New Energy and Automotive Industry

Development,” and “Life Sciences and New Medicine” were held

simultaneously. Over 30 elite professionals and experts from China and Germany

in politics, business, academia, and the corporate sector engaged in dialogues,

exchanges, and experience sharing on topics such as technological frontiers,

industrial development, and Sino-German cooperation.

the parallel forum on “Digital Economy and Intelligent

Manufacturing,” Professor Lothar Budde, Chairman of the Board of Directors

of the Bavarian Institute of Education and Digitization Research in Germany,

delivered a brilliant speech on the theme of “Digital Challenges,

Opportunities, and Risks in Industry.” He mentioned that currently, 90% of

German companies are already in the “Industry 4.0” stage, and within

five years, over 80% of companies in Germany will achieve value chain

digitization. Digital transformation and artificial intelligence will become

part of people’s lives. Human labor will be replaced by algorithms, but human

capabilities will continue to develop. The essence of digital transformation

lies in the mutual development of technology and humanity, and talent

cultivation will be a very important prerequisite. Unlike traditional

education, creativity, adaptability, self-drive, and problem-solving abilities

will become core elements of talent cultivation. Education models and

philosophies that are more suitable for future industrial development, such as Rhein

Koester’s industry-education integrated talent cultivation system, will turn

the various challenges brought about by digital transformation into tremendous

opportunities for industrial development today.
